Stoddingham
Stoddingham (AKA Stoddy or Stod) came to RMOESR as an owner surrender following a major life change. After a divorce and move to an apartment, Stoddy went from a home with a yard and someone around throughout the day to long days alone without an outlet for his energy. It quickly became clear that he was not thriving in this new environment. At 9 years old, this sweet sheepadoodle still has plenty of life and love to give, and we knew he would flourish in the right home.
Stoddy was placed in a foster home, where he had a sheepie friend and an experienced foster dad to help him settle in. It wasn’t long before we discovered he had been living with significant, untreated medical issues. He was suffering from severe chronic ear infections that had caused scarring, but with consistent treatment including steroids and medicated ear rinses, he finally found relief and no longer feels the need to constantly scratch at his ears or shake his head. We also learned that Stoddy had entropion, a condition where the eyelids roll inward, causing the eyelashes to irritate the cornea. Because this can be very painful, we chose to have it corrected, allowing Stoddy to finally live without the discomfort he had likely been experiencing since birth. As he begins his next chapter, Stoddy is stepping into a wonderful new life with plenty of acreage to explore and other doggy friends by his side. Despite his age, he remains playful and full of personality, often acting much younger than 9. He will be deeply missed by his foster dad, and we couldn’t be happier knowing he has found such a perfect fit.

Boomer

Boomer
Boomer is an 80 lb., 6 year old, purebred Old English Sheepdog. He was relinquished because a change in living arrangements and employment did not allow his owner to give him adequate time for walks and exercise. The change in living arrangements also included living with a cat that swatted at Boomer regularly, and he never defended himself.
Boomer was immediately placed with an experienced foster family who was looking to adopt a rescue, if it was the right dog.He slept on the bed the first night with his foster family and the result will be no surprise. The family quickly fell in love with him, and the foster fail was evident. Boomer was adopted and now will happily live forever with his one time, foster family.

Fernie

Fernie
Fernie came to RMOESR after his family went through a divorce. It was clear from the start that he had been loved and well cared for. He was a good boy!
Fernie’s first language was Spanish, and as luck would have it, his foster dad spoke Spanish too. He thrived in foster care, quickly settling in alongside his new sheepie friend in the home. When he arrived, he was still intact and needed to be neutered and brought up to date on vaccinations. After his recovery, he was ready for his forever home. He found the perfect match with a wonderful family of longtime Old English Sheepdog owners and their son. They connected from the start! Their son even calls him “Love,” which couldn’t be more fitting.
Now Fernie is living his very best life with his new family, enjoying the beauty of nature and surrounded by everything that makes him happy.

Fernie

Herman
RMOESR was contacted by a shelter regarding Herman, a 4 month old OES/Poodle mix. Due to what they characterized as ‘high arousal behavior,’ as well as ‘fear of novel people and dogs’, they were concerned they could not move him through their program. We agreed to take him and he was transferred to one of Colorado’s most dedicated Sheepdog foster families. Herman fit in immediately with the foster couple and their two mature OES’s. Despite a ton of puppy enthusiasm and energy Herman learned from humans, and dogs as well, quickly being housebroke, leash broke and starting to be well socialized. He was also quickly nicknamed The Hermanator. We posted Herman on our Facebook Group, and adoption interest was expressed by several folks. A meet and greet was scheduled with a family, and the day after that Herman went to his forever home!

Fernie

Doug
Doug was an owner surrender to a shelter due to the family having too many dogs. RMOESR was contacted and picked this adorable guy up. A perfect foster home was immediately found for this loving sheepie. He became a foster failure and is living his best life with these incredible humans and their other OES.

Fernie

Morgan
Morgan (previously known as Reagan) is a 10-year-old Old English Sheepdog who came to our rescue as an owner surrender due to a growing family. Being an old gal, she loves her short walks, and going for car rides. She loves being close to her people. She found a wonderful home with a couple in Washington state who have given her the best retirement home!

Fernie

CeeCee
RMOESR was contacted by a local animal shelter about this handsome 1-year-old sheepie with a lot of energy. Through the foster process, CeeCee was taught some excellent behavior boundaries and thrived while under their care. He was quickly adopted into a home with a young Sheepadoodle as his new best friend.
